Beside sitting, meditation can take place in moving. Die most acknown dynamic meditation is dance. Whether to the sound of a drum or with walz music, to let oneself fully in to the dance is one of the oldest meditations of human world.

Meditation means according definition of a Tibetan master: "Spirit, floating in space, nowhere."

Makes there anything your mind freer than getting lost in the motion? Though, dance should be separeted from thinking of correct steps or the fear of my appearence to others. Hence, the move as such, coming out from my own self when shutting my eyes and listening to the sound only, is the best way of dynamic meditation.

Dynamic meditation

During a seminar with Dr. Peter Riedl in Mandalahof in Vienna, I was able to experience this type of meditation. I like it in particular because in motion and concentration to the sound my mind clears wonderfully.

This is the link to the video. At the beginning, Reter Riedl explains how to get into the meditative state.

Deepening into "Doing"

What many are hardly aware of: Leisure activities are a type of meditation also. Deepening into crafting, cooking or gardening. This, I learned from my beloved partner who was a gifted hobby cook. "Cooking is meditation for me", he always said. Similar I'm told by others who bustle through their garden and are busy with flowers, plants or bees.

So then, fresh to work. May your mind become free and float.
