Words are power. Spoken once you can't take them back and make them vanish. They are irreversible.
Words are powerful. As well as thoughts. What works on the outside, works inwardly also. How you talk to others or to yourself affects your mood, your self-confidence, your relationship to others. With words violence can be exercised and injured, as well as caressed and cured
The voice
The voice is our oldest healing instrument. The voice is a vibration. With the help of the brain, inside the ear vibrations are converted into sounds. Our voice is able to heal and to hurt. In childhood, words, tone of voice, pitch, the use of the voice in conversation, become the pattern of our reality. We learn how to use the voice in the supposedly "right" way. We also learn how we speak to others and how we think about ourselves.
Singing
Singing in nature has been shown to calm wildlife. What works on animals also helps in humans. Babies sleep peacefully when singing for them. In past times people were singing at work because work wasn't separated from cheerfulness, as it is today, where activities are done in silent seriousness. Singing lightens work. Singing directs the awareness to the heart area, which allows you to get rid of restless thoughts and to clear your mind, similar to meditation.
Silence
We also learn what our silence means for others. Those who remain silent are classified as shy often, as someone who has little to say, or they are simply "overlooked" in conversations. Traumas like physical violence leads to wanting to be invisible. This leads to silence which on the one hand leads to the wished effect, on the other hand to isolation.
But silence can be a strong signal also. Self-confident people like to remain silent to express their position of power, while the other person desperately waits for an answer.
A lot of people feel uncomfortable in the quiet, trying desperately to "talk dead" the silence. Remain silence together is an expression of trust and love, to understand each other without words, to linger together in calmness and quiet by mutual agreement.
